The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the welfare, certification and professional development of Nigerian seafarers through closer collaboration with the Mission to Seafarers.

During a meeting between both organisations, the Director-General of NIMASA, Dr Dayo Mobereola, represented by the Agency’s Executive Director of Operations, Engineer Fatai Taiye Adeyemi, said the agency remained focused on policies that enhance the welfare and capacity of seafarers.

“The Agency remains committed to policies that strengthen certification, capacity development and the wellbeing of Nigerian seafarers,” Adeyemi said on behalf of the Director-General.

The meeting explored areas of collaboration aimed at advancing the welfare of seafarers and supporting the growth of Nigeria’s maritime industry.

Both organisations described the engagement as productive and pledged to deepen cooperation in the interest of the maritime sector and the nation’s blue economy.
