My Vision Is To Transform Osun From Civil Servant State To Industrial State – Adeleke

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has said his administration will focus on transforming the state from a predominantly civil servant economy into an industrial state during his second term.

Adeleke stated this in an interview with TVC News at his residence shortly after he was declared winner of the Osun State governorship election.

The governor thanked God and the people of Osun State for supporting his re-election, describing the outcome as a victory for democracy.

“I thank God Almighty for what has happened here today, it is a victory for democracy, a victory for Osun people that stood by me and said, Imole m, thank you, you have done alot, you have given us the dividends of democracy, in terms of infrastructure, improving our education, agriculture and so forth,” Adeleke said.

He said his administration would build on its achievements in the next four years, with industrialisation as a major priority.

“My vision for the next four years is to make sure that Osun State moves from civil servant state to an industrial state, cut across Osun State, development is on,” he said.

Reacting to his opponents in the election, Adeleke said there was “no victor, no vanquish”, while expressing hope that the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, would accept the outcome.

“I expect Oyebamiji, as a civilised person, to call and congratulate me,” Adeleke said.

The governor also thanked President Bola Tinubu for calling to congratulate him on his victory, saying the President’s actions showed his commitment to democracy.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank Mr President, he has called me, and has congratulated me, and thank you Mr President for making sure democracy lives on, you fought for it,” he said.

TVC News earlier reported that Returning Officer, Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole declared Adeleke winner of the election with 511,067 votes, defeating the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.

ADC candidate polled 17,180 votes.

Adeleke therefore won by a margin of 66,252 votes over Oyebamiji.
