The Minister of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, has received the founder of The Headies Awards and Chief Executive Officer of HipTV, Ayo Animashaun, ahead of the next edition of the awards in Toronto, Canada.

Musawa said the meeting underscored the growing global influence of Nigeria’s creative industry and the role of platforms such as The Headies in promoting Nigerian music internationally.

She said The Headies had evolved from an awards ceremony into a platform for celebrating excellence and projecting Nigeria’s creative talents to the global stage.

“The Headies has grown from an awards night into a platform that celebrates excellence and projects Nigeria’s creative industry to the world,” Musawa said.

The minister emphasised the need for stronger collaboration between government and creative industry stakeholders to create more opportunities for artists and sustain investment in Nigeria’s creative economy.
