LASEPA Urges Lagos Residents To Recycle Used Cooking Oil For Cash

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has urged residents to stop disposing of used cooking oil into drains, saying the waste product can be recycled for cash while helping to protect the environment.

In a post shared on its official X page, the agency warned that indiscriminate disposal of used cooking oil contributes to environmental pollution and blocked drainage systems across the state.

“Who told you used ororo has retired?” LASEPA asked.

“That used cooking oil still has value!”

The agency advised residents against pouring used cooking oil into drainage channels, stressing that proper recycling would benefit both individuals and the environment.

“Stop pouring it into drains. It pollutes the environment and contributes to blocked drainage.”

LASEPA encouraged Lagosians to recycle the waste product through designated channels, noting that they could also earn money in the process.

“Bring it in, recycle it, and collect your cash instead.”

“Your used ororo can make you money while helping keep Lagos clean.”
