The Kebbi State Police Command has taken its youth-focused campaign, tagged “My Future Is Greater Than Political and Digital Thuggery,” to communities and the streets as part of activities marking International Youth Week 2026.
The campaign, which commenced on August 20, is aimed at sensitising young people against political thuggery, manipulation and digital incitement, while promoting peace, responsible citizenship and positive youth engagement.
The Command said the initiative would be sustained across the state through continuous lectures and sensitisation programmes by POCACOV, in collaboration with community leaders and youth organisations.
As part of the concluding activities, the Police Command organised a novelty football match between a police team and youths in Birnin Kebbi, providing an opportunity to strengthen police-youth relations through sports and positive interaction.

Commissioner of Police, CP Umar M. Hadejia, commended the youths for their enthusiasm and urged them to resist manipulation and make responsible choices that would protect their future.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to building a healthy relationship with young people and harnessing their potential towards peace, security and development in Kebbi State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bashir Usman, said the campaign was part of the Command’s broader efforts to engage youths and discourage activities capable of undermining peace and security in the state.
