[JUST IN] Osun 2026: Basiru Delivers Polling Unit to APC as Oyebamiji Secures 177 Votes
The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has delivered his polling unit to the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the ongoing Osun State governorship election. The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has delivered his polling unit to the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
At Ward 7, Unit 3, Ibokun Road 2, Osogbo, where Basiru and his wife, Abibat, cast their ballots, Oyebamiji polled 177 votes to defeat the Accord Party candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who secured 60 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, received three votes, while the Action Alliance (AA), Young Progressives Party (YPP) and Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) candidates scored one vote each.
Basiru and his wife had earlier cast their votes at the polling unit before the results were announced.
After voting, the APC chieftain commended security agencies for maintaining a peaceful and orderly atmosphere at polling centres across the state.
He also praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the timely deployment of personnel and election materials for the exercise.
