Iyabo Obasanjo Congratulates Gov Adeleke on Re-election

Senator Iyabo Obasanjo has congratulated Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election, describing his victory as a reflection of the confidence placed in his leadership by the people of the state.

In a congratulatory message, Obasanjo commended Adeleke’s commitment to the development and progress of Osun State, while wishing him wisdom, strength and guidance as he begins another term in office.

“I warmly congratulate His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election as the Governor of Osun State. This victory is a testament to the confidence and trust the people of Osun State have placed in your leadership and vision. I commend your commitment to the development and progress of the state,” she said.

She added, “As you begin another term in office, I pray for God’s wisdom, strength and guidance as you continue to serve the good people of Osun State. May your administration achieve even greater milestones and bring more prosperity, peace and development to the state. Congratulations, Your Excellency, and best wishes for a successful second term.”

TVC News earlier reported that Adeleke of the Accord Party emerged winner of the governorship election after securing the highest number of votes in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas.

A total of 1,010,684 voters were accredited for the election, while 1,005,800 votes were cast. Of the votes cast, 985,079 were declared valid, while 207 were rejected.

Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who secured 444,815 votes and won 11 local government areas.

The African Democratic Congress candidate, Najeem Salam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
