Ghanaian gospel musician Obaapa Christy has expressed regret over not taking her formal education seriously, saying she believes combining education with her musical talent could have taken her further in life.
Speaking in an interview on 3FM, the celebrated musician reflected on her educational background and admitted that she wishes she had pursued her studies more seriously.
According to Obaapa Christy, the talent God gave her, combined with a strong educational foundation, could have opened even greater opportunities for her career and personal development.
“What I would have changed is that I would have gone to school. The gift God has given me, combined with education, would have helped me achieve greater things. Even without formal education, I am doing well. So, being educated would have made me attain more,” she said.
Despite her regret, the gospel musician maintained that she would still have chosen a career in gospel music if she had the opportunity to make the decision again.
Obaapa Christy explained that her faith and ministry have played a significant role in her life, creating opportunities and helping her overcome challenges.
“I would still have chosen to be a Gospel musician because looking at where I came from and how God uses my ministry to uplift me and create opportunities for me,” she stated.
She added that spreading the gospel remains her passion and something she would continue to dedicate herself to.
“I cannot think of anything better than spreading the Gospel of the Lord. For the work of the Lord, I would still have dedicated myself to it,” she said.
