Governor Nwifuru Approves N30,000 Monthly Allowance…

Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has approved a monthly allowance of ₦30,000 for every National Youth Service Corps( NYSC) member serving in the state.

‎The governor made the announcement during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II corps members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Afikpo.

‎Governor Nwifuru represented by Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Chidiebere Onyia, welcomed the corps members to Ebonyi State, describing the state as peaceful, secure, welcoming, and full of opportunities.

‎Onyia urged the corps members to embrace the diversity of Nigeria, respect their host communities, and contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

‎The commissioner also encouraged them to see their service year as an opportunity for personal growth, leadership, skills development, and nation-building.

‎He assured the corps members of the state government’s support throughout their service year and wished them a safe, productive, and rewarding experience in Ebonyi.

‎In his speech, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry,
‎Obiesie Hilary urged the corps members to embrace hard work, discipline, integrity, and respect for constituted authorities throughout their service year.

‎The permanent secretary encouraged the corps members to participate actively in camp activities and make meaningful contributions to their host communities.

‎He assured them of a peaceful and conducive environment throughout their service year, wishing them a successful and rewarding experience in Ebonyi.

‎However, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Malgwi Maidariya, called for increased government support to improve facilities at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Afikpo.

‎The state coordinator who appreciated the Ebonyi State government for their support appealed for the modernization of the camp kitchen, construction of a standard dining hall, establishment of a skills acquisition and entrepreneurship development centre, renovation of the perimeter fence, and provision of additional facilities in the multipurpose hall.
