The Red Devils became the first winners of the trophy in 1908 after overcoming Queens Park Rangers in the inaugural edition.
The first encounter between Manchester United and QPR ended 1-1 on April 27, 1908, leading to a replay several months later.
When the teams met again in late August, United delivered a commanding performance, defeating QPR 4-0 to secure the first Charity Shield.
James Turnbull was the standout player, scoring a hat-trick as Manchester United comfortably claimed the historic trophy.

More than 100 years later, United remain clear at the summit of the competition’s honours table with 21 Community Shield titles.
Arsenal occupy second place with 17 wins, while Liverpool have collected the trophy 16 times.
