While some billionaires managed to post gains, several of the world’s wealthiest people recorded steep declines, leading to notable shifts in the rankings as of August 1, according to Forbes.
1. Elon Musk — $690 billion
Source of wealth: SpaceX, Tesla
Elon Musk is the founder and CEO of SpaceX, the private aerospace company behind reusable rockets and commercial space missions. He also leads Tesla, one of the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturers, while maintaining investments in artificial intelligence, infrastructure and technology companies.
2. Larry Page — $292 billion
Source of wealth: Google
Larry Page co-founded Google alongside Sergey Brin, helping build it into the world’s leading search engine. He remains a major shareholder in Alphabet, Google’s parent company, and continues to invest in artificial intelligence and advanced technology projects.
3. Jeff Bezos — $278 billion

Jeff Bezos founded Amazon, the world’s largest e-commerce company and a global leader in cloud computing through Amazon Web Services (AWS). He also owns aerospace company Blue Origin and has investments in media and technology.
4. Sergey Brin — $269 billion

5. Michael Dell — $229 billion

Michael Dell is the founder and CEO of Dell Technologies, a multinational company that produces personal computers, enterprise software, data storage systems and IT infrastructure solutions for businesses worldwide.
6. Mark Zuckerberg — $191 billion
Source of wealth: Meta
Mark Zuckerberg co-founded Facebook and serves as CEO of Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads. Meta is also one of the world’s biggest investors in artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

Bernard Arnault is the chairman and CEO of LVMH, the world’s largest luxury goods company. The group owns premium brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany & Co., Bulgari, Moët & Chandon and Hennessy.
10. Warren Buffett — $145 billion
Source of wealth: Berkshire Hathaway
Warren Buffett is the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway, a multinational investment company with holdings across insurance, energy, railroads, manufacturing, banking and consumer products. He is widely regarded as one of history’s greatest investors.
