FirstHoldCo Plc has become the first banking stock listed on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) to exceed a market capitalisation of N6 trillion, following another surge in its share price during Monday’s trading session.

According to data published on the Nigerian Exchange’s official website, the financial services group was valued at N5.89 trillion at a share price of N129.55 at the close of Friday’s trading before moving past the N6 trillion mark as its stock climbed to N137.2/share as of 10:43am on Monday.

NGX market summary for the last trading day in July showed that Zenith Bank remained the second most valuable banking stock on the exchange with a market capitalisation of N5.07 trillion, followed by Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) at N4.75 trillion. Stanbic IBTC Holdings came in at N2.53 trillion, United Bank for Africa (UBA) was valued at N1.97 trillion, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated at N1.61 trillion, Fidelity Bank at N1.36 trillion, Access Holdings at N1.43 trillion and Wema Bank at N1.16 trillion.

The latest milestone extends FirstHoldCo’s remarkable performance on the Nigerian bourse in 2026 and comes less than two weeks after the company crossed the N5 trillion market capitalisation threshold for the first time in its history on July 22.

TVC News Online reports that the latest feat of the company comes a few days after Calvados Global Services Limited, a company tied to billionaire investor and Board Chairman, Mr Olufemi Otedola, acquired a stake in First HoldCo Plc valued at over ₦222.2 billion on the Nigerian Exchange Limited.

According to an official Notification of Share Dealing by an Insider filed on Thursday, July 30, 2026, on the exchange, the transaction involved the purchase of 1,779,094,976 ordinary shares. The shares were bought at a price of ₦124.90 per unit, bringing the total investment to approximately ₦222.208bn.

Earlier on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Otedola bought N77.589bn worth of First HoldCo shares at N109.88 each.
