Spain World Cup hero Ferran Torres has completed his move from Barcelona to European champions Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth €50 million (£42.7m).

The 26-year-old forward has signed a contract with the French champions until 2031 after a standout campaign with Barcelona and Spain.

Torres scored the decisive extra-time goal against Argentina as Spain secured their second men’s World Cup title last month, further enhancing his reputation following an impressive season at club level.

He scored 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona, while also providing three assists as the Catalan giants won the La Liga title.

His move to PSG reunites him with Luis Enrique, the former Barcelona player and manager who is now in charge of the French champions.

PSG have won the Champions League in each of the past two seasons and have continued to strengthen their squad this summer, with Torres becoming their second major attacking signing after the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.

The Parisian club added another trophy to their collection on Wednesday when they defeated Aston Villa 2-1 to win the UEFA Super Cup.

Torres joined Barcelona in 2022 after two seasons at Manchester City. He has since made 65 appearances for Spain, scoring 25 goals, and made his international debut under Enrique.

His arrival could also coincide with the departure of PSG forward Bradley Barcola, who has reportedly attracted interest from Liverpool.
