China will provide Nigeria with RMB200 million in grant assistance to support development projects agreed upon by both governments, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has announced.

Yu disclosed this after meeting with the Permanent Secretary of Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Dunoma Umar Ahmed.

He said the grant reflected China’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s national development priorities and delivering tangible benefits to citizens of both countries.

“China will provide RMB 200 million in grant assistance for projects agreed upon by the two governments,” Yu said.

The ambassador said the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership had entered a new stage of high-quality development under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said China was ready to work closely with Nigeria to implement the outcomes of the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) Beijing Summit and deepen practical cooperation across various sectors.

Yu added that both countries would work to translate their shared commitments into concrete outcomes that would deliver greater benefits to their people.
