BBNaija’s Sheggz Confirms Breakup With Bella Over Trust, Respect Issues

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Segun ‘Sheggz’ Olusemo has confirmed that his relationship with fellow reality star Bella Okagbue has ended, revealing that they parted ways in January 2026.

Sheggz disclosed in a lengthy statement posted on his X account on Tuesday, where he said unresolved issues of trust and respect influenced the breakup, particularly as he considered marriage.

The reality star said he had previously avoided discussing his private life publicly out of respect for his family and because he preferred to keep personal matters away from the internet.

However, he said he decided to speak out after what he described as attempts to damage his reputation and misrepresent his character.

Sheggz also denied cheating on Bella, insisting that he had been single since January 2026.

“For clarity, I did not cheat on Bella, and I have been single since January 2026,” he said.

He also opened up about the difficulties he experienced in 2025, saying he spent a significant period in and out of hospital while receiving treatment and recovering from health challenges.

Sheggz said he returned to Nigeria in October 2025 after treatment and recovery in England, adding that he later became aware of information that made him question the honesty within the relationship.

According to him, he had given several opportunities since 2024 for the truth to be disclosed but said that did not happen.

He said the situation was difficult to process because he had deeply loved Bella and genuinely hoped they would spend their lives together.

The former housemate disclosed that the pair attempted to reconcile after their initial separation but eventually concluded that there were trust and respect issues he could not overlook when considering marriage.

“We made attempts to reconcile afterwards, but ultimately I came to the conclusion that there were issues of trust and respect that I could not overlook when considering marriage,” he said.

Sheggz said he was serious about building a future with Bella, revealing that he had gone as far as purchasing an engagement ring because he believed they could eventually get married.

“I genuinely wanted the relationship to work. I even went as far as purchasing a ring because I believed in the possibility of a future together,” he said.

He acknowledged that Bella’s family might have its own perspective on the breakup but said he respected their feelings and had made sincere efforts to save the relationship.

Sheggz added that he did not want the matter to develop into a public dispute, saying he preferred to move forward peacefully and wished Bella well.

The pair began dating after meeting during the 2022 edition of Big Brother Naija and became one of the most popular couples from the reality show.

In a 2023 interview, Bella described their relationship as genuine, while Sheggz had previously spoken about his intention to marry her after they left the Big Brother house.

The latest disclosure brings an end to months of speculation over the status of their relationship.
