Arsenal have lifted their 18th Community Shield trophy after defeating Manchester City 3-0 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Sunday.

The Gunners made a flying start as Riccardo Calafiori opened the scoring after just 23 seconds, finishing a move created by Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Kai Havertz doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 28th minute with a header before captain Martin Ødegaard added the third three minutes into the second half.

Manchester City struggled to respond as Arsenal controlled the game and goalkeeper David Raya produced several saves to preserve his clean sheet.

The victory gives Arsenal their 18th Community Shield title, moving them further ahead as the competition’s second-most successful club behind Manchester United.

The result also handed new Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca a defeat in his first competitive match in charge.
