APC National Chairman Yilwatda Named Daily Times Politician of the Year

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has been named the recipient of the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Politician of the Year Award.

The APC disclosed this in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Saturday, August 22.

According to the party, the award is part of activities marking the 100th anniversary of Daily Times and recognises Yilwatda’s leadership, public service and contributions to national development.

“The All Progressives Congress (APC) is pleased to announce that the Party’s National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has been named the recipient of the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Politician of the Year Award,” the statement said.

The award will be presented at the Times Heroes Awards, scheduled for September 3, 2026, at the ThisDay Dome in Abuja.

The APC said Yilwatda would also be featured in the commemorative Nigerian Grand Book (National Souvenir) being produced as part of the centenary celebration.

The book, according to the party, will celebrate distinguished Nigerians and highlight their contributions to the development of the country.

The APC also invited friends, political associates and well-wishers of the national chairman who wish to publish congratulatory messages in his honour to make use of the contact details contained in an attached letter.

The award comes as the APC continues preparations for the 2027 general elections under Yilwatda’s leadership.
