Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has cast his ballot in the ongoing governorship election at his polling unit in Ede.

Adeleke voted at Ward 9, Sagba Abogunde Polling Unit, Ede, where he was the first voter to officially cast his ballot.

Speaking to TVC News after voting, the governor raised concerns over alleged intimidation of his supporters in the Modakeke area of the state.

Adeleke subsequently called for the removal of the Commissioner of Police deployed to oversee the election.

The governor, however, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for the early commencement of accreditation and voting at his polling unit.

He urged INEC to sustain the process and ensure that the election is conducted freely and fairly across the state.

Adeleke is seeking another term in office in a closely contested election against the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, Najeem Salaam and other candidates.

Voting is ongoing across Osun’s 30 local government areas, with accreditation and voting expected to continue until 2pm or until the last voter on the queue at each polling unit is accredited and allowed to vote.
