Families of kidnapped students and other victims in Borno State have appealed to the Federal Government to intensify efforts to secure their release, as the abductions enter their 100th day.
The families and concerned citizens said the prolonged captivity had brought “pain and anguish” and called for urgent action to rescue the victims.
At a press conference in Abuja, they appealed directly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, to make the safe recovery of the abducted students and other citizens an immediate priority.
They said the victims had spent months in captivity since their abduction on May 15, leaving families in distress and uncertainty over their safety.
The group urged the government and security agencies to deploy all necessary resources to locate the victims and secure their freedom.
“100 days of anguish is enough,” the families said, stressing that every additional day in captivity deepened the emotional and psychological toll on relatives.
They also appealed to lawmakers, security agencies and other stakeholders to support efforts to secure the victims’ release.
The families said they remained hopeful that the government would act swiftly to bring their loved ones home safely.
