You Are Angry When Badenoch Calls Your Country Corrupt, But Your Posts Are Negative – Shehu Sani
Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has urged Nigerians to be more measured in the way they portray their country, warning that consistently negative narratives could reinforce damaging perceptions of Nigeria abroad.
His comments centered on what he described as a contradiction between condemning negative portrayals of Nigeria by outsiders while also spreading unfavorable narratives about the country on social media.
According to the former lawmaker, many Nigerians express outrage whenever British politician Kemi Badenoch describes Nigeria as a corrupt country or when xenophobic groups in South Africa refer to Nigerians as fraudsters, drug dealers, and human traffickers.
