Popular Nigerian content creator and streamer Peller has revealed why he declined an offer from DSTV to livestream his upcoming wedding, saying he would rather broadcast the ceremony on his own platforms.

Key Highlights

  • Wedding Broadcast Decision: Popular Nigerian streamer Peller says he declined DSTV’s offer to livestream his upcoming wedding.
  • Reason for Rejection: He said he prefers to broadcast the ceremony on his own platforms because he believes his audience is large enough.
  • Streaming Platforms: Peller and his fiancée, Jarvis, plan to livestream the wedding on TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch.
  • Direct Fan Engagement: He noted that TikTok viewers will be able to send virtual gifts during the livestream, saying he expects “lions back to back.”
  • Wedding Date: The couple’s wedding is scheduled for August 1, following their private traditional wedding in Edo State, where Peller paid Jarvis’ bride price.

Speaking during a livestream session, Peller disclosed that the pay-TV company approached him with an offer to stream the event.

However, he said he rejected the proposal because he believes his personal audience is large enough to handle the broadcast.

According to him, he and his fiancée, fellow TikToker Jarvis, will livestream the wedding across TikTok, YouTube, and Twitch, allowing fans to watch directly through their channels.

“DSTV reached out to me that they want to stream our wedding, but guess what? DSTV, we love you, but I am a streamer. I’m big enough to stream it. Na my wedding, let me do it,” he said.

Peller added that viewers on TikTok would also be able to send him virtual gifts during the livestream, joking that he expects “lions back to back.”

The wedding is scheduled to take place on August 1, following the couple’s private traditional wedding ceremony in Edo State, where Peller formally paid Jarvis’ bride price.

His comments have sparked mixed reactions online. While many applauded his confidence in the strength of his brand and digital audience, others questioned whether turning down a mainstream broadcaster like DSTV was the right decision.

Some also predicted that the livestream could become one of the biggest online wedding events by an African content creator.
