Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, says what worries him most is the sustainability of the good work done so far by successive governments in the State since 1999.
Mr Fashola who spoke exclusively to TVC News Beyond The Headlines programme with Nifemi Oguntoye said a lot of work has been done but it’s sustainability is the big worry and challenge that he has as a former governor of the State.
According to him ” Lagos residents must ultimately decide the kind of state they want”
” Waste management is a challenge because of the inability of people to follow the rules and do things properly”
On what the future holds for Lagos State, he disclosed that leading the state is like “an academy where people are trained on all aspects of the organisation and ensure not just anybody comes to lead”
He threw his weight behind the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos State and current deputy governor, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat.
He described him as ” having the same values as himself of hardwork, excellence and a commitment to service”
He added that thay are traits that has ensured that Dr Hamzat has reached the heights he has.
He disclosed that the objective right now should be ” how to get him into the saddle after the end of the tenure of governor Sanwo-Olu “
