Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has handed over land allocation letters to residents across 98 villages in Ito-Omu and surrounding communities as part of efforts to provide greater security of land ownership and promote orderly development.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this in a post on his official X account on Wednesday, saying the allocation was an important step towards giving families in the affected communities greater certainty over their properties.
The governor noted that land represents more than property to many families, describing it as a source of identity and a foundation for the future.
“Today, I handed over land allocation letters to residents across 98 villages in Ito-Omu and surrounding communities,” Sanwo-Olu wrote.
“For many families, land represents identity and a foundation for the future. I am pleased that we have taken an important step towards giving these communities greater certainty and peace of mind,” he added.

The governor said his administration would continue to protect the rights of Lagos residents while supporting structured and sustainable development across the state.
“Our administration will continue to protect the rights of our people and support orderly growth across Lagos. There is still more work to do, but today marks meaningful progress for these communities,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu also appreciated the residents for their patience and cooperation, assuring them of his administration’s continued commitment to building a better Lagos.
