Presidency Tackles Peter Obi Over Keyamo’s CCTV Evidence Of Wrong Parking At Airport
The presidency has described the 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, as a guilty man who cries the most to win public sympathy.
NEWSNGR recalls that Peter Obi had, during a recent interview, accused airport officials of wrongdoing in an incident involving improper parking.
He claimed that his vehicle was unjustly clamped at the airport as part of an attempt to frustrate him.
However, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, in a statement, said Peter Obi should publicly apologise to airport officials and pay a ₦25,000 fine.
Keyamo disclosed that an internal investigation showed that Peter Obi’s car was wrongly parked.
According to Keyamo, CCTV footage from the airport showed that Peter Obi arrived at the domestic terminal on July 4, 2026, at about 8:28 p.m in a vehicle driven by a police officer.
He said that after dropping off Peter Obi and two other occupants, the police driver parked the vehicle in a designated drop-off zone and left it unattended while entering the terminal, contrary to airport regulations.
In a post on his 𝕏 handle, President Bola Tinubu’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, challenged Peter Obi to be honourable enough to recant the deliberate mischaracterisation of his experience at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
He wrote, “Mr. Peter Obi is a typical example of Yoruba “asunkun ro ejo”( a guilty person that cries the most to narrate a story just to win sympathy).
“Now that the Minister of Aviation has released the CCTV video and full statement of what actually happened at the airport, I hope Mr. Obi will be honourable enough to recant the deliberate mischaracterisation of his experience.”
