The investigation reportedly led to the arrest of two suspectson July 25.

Preliminary findings, according to the police, indicate that the suspects are members of a criminal syndicate allegedly involved in armed robbery operations within and outside Ondo State.

The command said the suspects confessed to their involvement during interrogation.

A subsequent search of their hideouts allegedly led to the recovery of a stun gun loaded with one rubber bullet, a jerk knife and the victim’s iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The recovered items are being held as exhibits while forensic and technical investigations continue.

The state commissioner of Police , Felix Ohagwu commended the operatives of the Akure Area Command for what he described as their professionalism and resilience, noting that the successful operation reflects the command’s commitment to intelligence-led policing and proactive crime prevention.

He said investigations are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate, recover additional exhibits and ensure that all those connected to the alleged criminal operation are brought to justice.
