The headmaster of Nomadic Basic School in Igbojaye, Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Mr. Mathew Kolawole Owoade, has been rescued less than 48 hours after he was abducted by suspected kidnappers.

Owoade, a 60-year-old educator and farmer, was kidnapped on Saturday, July 12, 2026, along the Igbojaye–Budo Aare bush road while returning from his farm. He regained his freedom on Monday following an intensive rescue operation coordinated by the Oyo State Police Command.

He explained that sustained pressure mounted by security operatives forced the kidnappers to abandon their captive, leading to Owoade’s safe recovery on Monday evening.
