Nigeria Reaffirms Support For Sahrawi Self-Determination

Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of self-determination and decolonisation during a meeting between the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, and the Foreign Minister of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat….

Nigeria has reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of self-determination and decolonisation during a meeting between the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye, and the Foreign Minister of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, Mohamed Yeslem Beissat.

Beissat, who visited as the Special Envoy of the Sahrawi government, held talks with the Nigerian minister to review and strengthen the longstanding ties between both countries.

During the meeting, Enikanolaiye said Nigeria remained committed to “the principles of self-determination, decolonisation, and respect for the sanctity of colonial borders, in line with the objectives of the African Union.”

 

He added that the meeting provided an opportunity for both countries to “review and strengthen the longstanding fraternal relations between Nigeria and the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic.”
