The factional National Chairman of the Accord Party, Chris Inumolen, has expressed confidence that his faction will secure a favourable ruling from the Federal High Court in the party’s ongoing leadership dispute.

Speaking on TVC News programme Beyond the Headlines with Nifemi Oguntoye, Inumolen acknowledged that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) currently recognises another faction led by Maxwell as the party’s national leadership.

“INEC recognises another faction as National Chairman, Maxwell,” he said.

Despite the recognition, Inimolen said his faction remained optimistic about the outcome of the legal battle.

“We are positive that we will get a positive court ruling from the Federal High Court,” he said.

He added that his objective was to reform the party, saying, “My aim was to sanitise the Accord Party.”

Inumolen also alleged that the party was facing internal challenges in Nasarawa State.

“There is serious trouble in Nasarawa,” he said, without providing further details.
