INEC Chair Amupitan Visits Ooni of Ife Ahead of Osun Guber Poll
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has arrived in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election. As part of his pre-election engagements, the INEC chairman paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife.……
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, has arrived in Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
As part of his pre-election engagements, the INEC chairman paid a courtesy visit to the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace in Ile-Ife.
The visit comes as preparations intensify for the governorship election, with the electoral umpire expected to assess the commission’s readiness and engage critical stakeholders to ensure a peaceful, credible and transparent poll.
The Osun state off-cycle election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
