‘I Always Tell Peter Obi He Shouldn’t Have Gone Into Politics; He Should Have Become A Reverend Father,’ Dickson Iroegbu Praises Former Governor’s Character
Dickson Iroegbu, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has praised the character of former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, describing him as a leader whose integrity and moral values make him stand out in Nigerian politics.
Speaking during an interview published on the official MIC ON PODCAST YouTube channel on Saturday, July 4, 2026, Iroegbu said Obi has consistently demonstrated honesty, discipline, and a commitment to doing what he believes is right, even when faced with political pressure.
According to Iroegbu, Obi’s style of leadership is different from that of many politicians because he places a high value on accountability and ethical conduct while serving the public.
To emphasize his admiration for the former governor’s personality, Iroegbu made a humorous remark about the kind of path he believes Obi could have taken in life.
“Sometimes I tell him he shouldn’t have gone into politics. He should have been positioning himself to become a Reverend Father,” Iroegbu said.Continue Reading By Clicking Here.
