Germany Donates Operational Vehicles To Boost Nigeria Immigration Service

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has received operational vehicles from the German Federal Police to strengthen its operational capacity and improve border security and migration management.
The vehicles were handed over during a visit by a delegation of the German Federal Police, led by the Head of Department 42, Mr Neils Zimmermann, to the NIS Headquarters in Sauka, Abuja.

Receiving the delegation, the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, described the donation as a reflection of the strong bilateral relationship between Nigeria and Germany.

“The donated operational vehicles will significantly enhance the Service’s operational mobility and effectiveness in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” Nandap said.
She thanked the German government for its continued support and commitment to strengthening the Service’s operational capabilities.
Speaking during the handover, Mr Zimmermann reaffirmed Germany’s commitment to supporting the Nigeria Immigration Service in building institutional capacity and promoting effective migration management.
“We are confident that this collaboration will continue to yield mutual benefits in addressing transnational migration challenges,” he said.
The donation forms part of the long-standing partnership between the Nigeria Immigration Service and the German Federal Police, aimed at enhancing border security, improving operational effectiveness and promoting safe, orderly and regular migration.
