FAAN said the introduction of colour-coded recycling bins is designed to make waste disposal and separation easier for passengers, airport users and other stakeholders.
“Yesterday at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), FAAN officially launched Phase One of its Sustainable Waste Management Programme, introducing colour-coded recycling bins to make waste separation easier for everyone,” the agency stated.
It described the initiative as “a major step toward building cleaner, greener, and more sustainable airports across Nigeria.”
The authority also urged travellers to play their part in maintaining cleaner airport environments by disposing of waste responsibly.
“As you travel, your small actions can make a big difference. Dispose of your waste in the right bin, support recycling, and help us create an airport environment we’re all proud of,” FAAN added.
