American R&B singer Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to affray in connection with an assault at a London nightclub in 2023, bringing an end to proceedings over more serious charges that have now been withdrawn.
According to BBC reports, Brown entered the guilty plea at Southwark Crown Court on Friday during a hearing that lasted less than five minutes. He is scheduled to be sentenced on October 26, 2026.
The 37-year-old had initially denied charges of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm, causing actual bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon—a tequila bottle. Prosecutors have since dropped those charges, leaving only the affray count.

His co-defendant, rapper Omololu Akinlolu, popularly known as Hoody Baby, also pleaded guilty to affray, an offence involving the use or threat of violence that causes another person to fear for their safety.
The case stems from an incident at Tape, a private members’ club in London’s Mayfair district, on February 19, 2023.
Presiding over the matter, Judge Tony Baumgartner fixed October 26, 2026, for the sentencing of both Brown and Akinlolu.
According to BBC, Brown, known for hit songs including Loyal, Look At Me Now and With You, arrived at court wearing a beige suit and baseball cap, accompanied by security personnel. He acknowledged supporters gathered outside the courthouse by waving as he entered.
As part of his bail conditions during the trial process, Brown was required to lodge a £5 million security bond. The conditions also permitted him to continue his international tour, provided he surrendered his passport to authorities upon arrival in each country.
