FIFA has appointed Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić to officiate the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina, scheduled for Sunday, July 19, at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
The world football governing body announced the match officials in a post on its official X handle on Friday, July 17, 2026, confirming an experienced refereeing team for the tournament’s showpiece fixture.
According to FIFA, Vinčić will be assisted by fellow Slovenians Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič as assistant referees, while Adham Makhadmeh of Jordan has been named the fourth official.

Mohammad Alkalaf, also from Jordan, will serve as the reserve assistant referee.
FIFA also confirmed that the highly anticipated final will kick off at 3:00 p.m. EDT at the New York New Jersey Stadium, where Spain and Argentina will battle for the 2026 FIFA World Cup title.
