Accord Party Adopts Tinubu As 2027 Presidential Candidate

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and the national leadership of the Accord Party have endorsed President Bola Tinubu as the party’s presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.

According to a report by The Nation, the decision was announced in a statement issued by Adeleke’s re-election campaign spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, following a meeting between the governor and the party’s national leadership on Saturday night in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.

The meeting focused on key issues affecting the party and its political direction ahead of the next general election.

The party’s leadership said it was important for the Tinubu administration to complete ongoing legacy infrastructure projects, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway, describing them as critical to the country’s development.

Discussions about the August governorship election were also held with the party’s leadership warning against violence, intimidation, electoral manipulation and the use of security forces against members of Accord Party in Osun State.

Members of the party’s national leadership present at the meeting include the National Chairman, Maxwell Mgbudem; Deputy National Chairman, Maryam Sale; the National Secretary, Ajaja Abiola Adebukola; National Treasurer, Abdulazeez Oyeniyi Salaudeen; National Organising Secretary, Ibe Thankgod; National Publicity Secretary, Omorogbe Joseph; among others.

Also in attendance were the party’s state’s chairmen from all over the country.
