2027: PDP Chieftain Declares Support For Peter Obi, Says Nigeria

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Anselm Ijebor, has thrown his weight behind the presidential ambition of former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ijebor said he would mobilise support for Obi, arguing that the former governor has demonstrated the competence, integrity and leadership qualities needed to address Nigeria’s socio-economic and security challenges.
In a statement, the PDP stalwart urged Nigerians to rally behind leaders with proven records rather than making electoral choices based on sentiment.
“As the 2027 general election approaches, Nigerians have an opportunity to elect leaders with the experience, vision and capacity to deliver good governance and rebuild the country,” he said.
He also mentioned former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing him as another political leader who has shown commitment to public service and enjoys widespread support across the country.
Ijebor praised Obi’s administration in Anambra State, saying it was marked by prudent management of public resources, commitment to development and accountable governance.

According to him, an Obi-led federal government would prioritise infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, job creation, security, as well as the empowerment of youths and women.
He further appealed to Nigerians to participate actively in the 2027 elections and support candidates they believe can move the country forward.
“I call on every eligible voter, every youth, every woman, every elder and every stakeholder to participate in the democratic process and support the candidate they believe can move Nigeria forward,” he said.
Ijebor also said Obi’s contributions to national development and his advocacy for national unity have earned him recognition across the country.
He urged political actors and supporters to embrace peaceful, issue-based campaigns as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
