According to a video posted on Fox News, on Friday June 26, 2026, United States President Donald Trump delivered an emotional account of the human cost of Iran’s decades-long support for terrorism, telling a religious conservative audience that the country had governed through fear and violence for 47 years and left a trail of devastation that included maimed American soldiers.
He said the roadside bombs responsible for those injuries were designed and developed under the direction of Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, whom he described as a mad genius and whom he said he killed during his first term in office.
