CCTV footage has surfaced online allegedly showing a man and a group of five women carrying out what appears to be a well-coordinated theft at an electronics shop in Onitsha, Anambra State….WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.
The incident, which reportedly occurred at a busy electronics store in the commercial city, has sparked widespread reactions after the surveillance video began circulating on social media.
In the footage, the suspects are seen entering the shop and posing as ordinary customers while browsing through various electronic items on display.
The man, believed to be the leader of the group, is seen lifting a television set and engaging one of the shop attendants in what appeared to be a lengthy conversation, seemingly to divert the employee’s attention.
While the attendant remained occupied, the women allegedly moved around different sections of the store, discreetly concealing several items inside their clothing and handbags before attempting to leave without attracting suspicion.
The alleged theft was reportedly discovered after staff reviewed the shop’s CCTV footage following a stock check that revealed missing items.
The video has since attracted widespread attention online, with many Nigerians expressing shock at the level of coordination displayed by the group.
Some social media users described the incident as a reminder for business owners to strengthen security measures, including installing surveillance cameras and ensuring adequate supervision inside their stores.
Others urged shop owners to remain vigilant, noting that some criminal gangs allegedly operate in groups, with one person distracting employees while accomplices carry out the theft.
Authorities are reportedly reviewing the CCTV footage as part of ongoing efforts to identify and apprehend the suspects.
