NAHCON warns public against fake social media accounts

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has warned the public against unauthorised social media accounts using its name, logo, and institutional identity to circulate information without its approval.
In a public disclaimer signed by its Head of Information and Publications, Shafii Sani Mohammed, the Commission said it does not own or authorise any social media account outside its recognised official platforms.
NAHCON advised the public to obtain information only through its official website and its verified social media accounts.
These include Facebook, X, formerly Twitter, and Instagram, all under the handle @NigeriaHajjCom, as well as its YouTube channel.
The Commission urged the public to disregard and report suspicious accounts and avoid sharing unverified information.
It added that it may take appropriate administrative and legal action against those misusing its identity.
