Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s Foundation Brings Free Surgeries to 14 Ogun East Locations

No fewer than 15,000 residents of Ogun East Senatorial District are expected to benefit from a free medical outreach organised by the Gateway Front Foundation (GFF), founded by former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Senator Gbenga Daniel, to mark the foundation’s 25th anniversary.

The outreach began on Friday, October 9, 2026, and is running across 14 locations in the senatorial district. Nearly 1,000 major and minor surgical procedures are planned under the programme.

At Redeemers Health Village, one of the participating facilities, a medical team from the United States has been examining patients ahead of their scheduled operations. The assessments help doctors establish each patient’s state of health, treatment needs and suitability for surgery, and they identify the right treatment options for those lined up for the operating table.

The American team’s involvement forms part of a wider intervention designed to bring quality healthcare closer to residents. By spreading the exercise across many locations, the foundation is making it easier for people in different parts of Ogun East to reach the services without travelling far.

Beyond surgeries, the programme is expected to reach a broad cross-section of the population through consultations, medical examinations and other services. Both major and minor operations will be performed on eligible patients, and the surgical component stands as one of the most significant parts of the exercise.

The outreach is scheduled to run until Saturday, October 24, 2026. By then, the total number of patients attended to and procedures completed should give a clearer picture of its reach. Further details on the full range of services at the participating centres, and the final number of beneficiaries, are expected as the programme progresses.

For the foundation, the 25th anniversary intervention places healthcare at the centre of its commemorative activities, with a stated target of reaching 15,000 residents and delivering nearly 1,000 surgical procedures.
