NPFL: Atune savours Bendel Insurance’s ‘tough’ win over Rivers United
Bendel Insurance assistant coach, Jolomi Atune, has revealed that their victory over Rivers United was tough.
The Benin Arsenals ended Rivers United’s unbeaten run with a 2-1 victory at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Sunday.
Bendel Insurance broke the deadlock in the 48th minute through Freeman Wuchirwe while Chijioke Mbaoma levelled for Rivers United 11 minutes from time.
Jonathan James however secured maximum points for the hosts in stoppage time.
Atune commended the players for their performance in the game.
“It was a tough match as we all knew Rivers United were determined to come to our ground to win the game but we have our plans as well,” Atune told Raysports.
“We must give kudos to our boys for getting the job done in the game.”
Bendel Insurance moved up to sixth position on the league table following the win.
