XTransfer Debuts at Seamless Africa 2026

XTransfer, a B2B cross-border trade payment platform, has made its debut at Seamless Africa 2026, highlighting its growing efforts to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) involved in international trade across Africa.

The company participated in the two-day event held in Johannesburg from September 8 to 9, 2026, where it outlined its approach to working with African financial institutions to improve cross-border payment services for businesses.

XTransfer Targets Africa’s SME Trade Market

Speaking on the company’s participation at Seamless Africa 2026, Ray Ren, UK CEO at XTransfer, said the company was seeking closer partnerships with African financial institutions to improve services available to SMEs.

“Our debut at Seamless Africa reflects a clear focus: working more closely with African financial institutions to better serve SME trade,” Ren said.

He said banks and payment partners joining XTransfer’s X-Net network could access services including Pay to China, Pay to Global and Local-Currency Collection.

According to Ren, the services are designed to help financial institutions serve SME customers involved in cross-border trade while reducing payment difficulties and supporting compliant transactions.

Cross-Border Payment Challenges for African SMEs

XTransfer said many SMEs involved in international trade continue to face challenges when making and receiving payments across borders.

These challenges include complex payment procedures and delays that can put pressure on business cash flow and affect supply chains.

The company said limited access to reliable cross-border payment channels can also create compliance and transparency concerns where businesses turn to informal payment methods.

XTransfer said it works with international and local banks and financial institutions to strengthen payment infrastructure and support compliant cross-border transactions.

As part of its African expansion, XTransfer has partnered with Flutterwave to support importers in Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa.

The partnership is designed to allow eligible importers in the three markets to pay for goods in local currency while helping Asian exporters receive settlement.

The companies say the arrangement is intended to support trade flows between Africa and Asia by simplifying payment processes for businesses operating across the two regions.

XTransfer Expands Middle East and Africa Operations

The company’s participation in Seamless Africa 2026 comes amid broader expansion across the Middle East and Africa.

In September 2026, XTransfer announced that it had received in-principle approval for a Retail Payment Services Licence from the Central Bank of the UAE.

The proposed licence remains subject to the completion of pre-issuance conditions.

If granted, the licence would allow XTransfer to expand its regulated payment services in the United Arab Emirates and provide additional support to businesses engaged in international trade.
