VIDEO: Moment a young man who attempted to commit suicide makes a U-turn

A video has gone viral on social media showing the moment a young man appeared to attempt suicide by hanging himself from a storey building before suddenly changing his mind.

In the video, the young man is seen with a rope around his neck as he attempts to hang himself from the first floor of a building.

He successfully ties the rope around his neck before climbing down using blocks on the building’s exterior.

However, when he reaches the point where he would have to let go of the wall and allow himself to hang, the young man suddenly makes a U-turn.

He climbs back up the building and appears to abandon the attempt.

Residents can be seen standing nearby as the incident unfolds, while voices in the background are heard laughing.

The laughter appears to increase after the young man decides to abandon the attempt.

He then runs back into the building, as seen in the video.

The circumstances surrounding the incident and the young man’s identity were not immediately known.

The video has generated reactions on social media, with some users criticising the people who appeared to watch the incident without intervening.
