Police Arrest Son, 2 Others For Robbing Mother In Adamawa

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested three suspects, including a 20-year-old man, Aminu Adamu, for allegedly conspiring with two others to rob his mother at their residence in Wuro Kuturu, Jimeta.

The incident, which occurred around midnight on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, has drawn attention to the security challenges confronting residential communities, particularly the alleged involvement of a family member in a robbery targeting his own relatives.

According to a statement issued by the police command yesterday, the suspects allegedly armed themselves with dangerous weapons before breaking into the family residence.

During the alleged operation, the suspects reportedly stole ₦200,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a power bank.

The police identified the other suspects as Adamu Mamman, and Nuhu Umar. The three suspects are all residents of Wuro Kuturu, Nassarawo, in Yola North Local Government Area of the state.

Their arrest followed a complaint lodged by the victim after the alleged robbery.

Police officers attached to the Karewa Area Command, subsequently commenced investigation, leading to the arrest of the suspects on Thursday, September 17.

The command said a knife, pliers and scissors were recovered from the suspects during the operation, including substances suspected to be hard drugs.

According to the command, the suspects reportedly confessed during interrogation to their involvement in the alleged robbery.

The state Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, has directed a thorough investigation into the case.

He further ordered the command to ensure diligent prosecution of the suspects upon completion of the investigation.

The police said the investigation would establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged robbery and determine the individual roles of the suspects.

The command also reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and combating criminal activities across Adamawa State.

It urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons, movements and activities to the police or other security agencies.

The command stressed that timely information from members of the public remained important to preventing criminal activities and enhancing security in communities across the state.
