Nigerians Humourously Demand To Meet Africa’s Richest Man

Nigerians who subscribed to Dangote’s shares are demanding an opportunity to meet with Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, after investing the minimum ₦5,250 required to acquire 10 shares under the ongoing offer.
The demand follows a social media post by popular Nigerian comedian and content creator, Sabinus, who humorously presented himself as a new shareholder eager to contribute ideas that could help move the company forward.
In his post, Sabinus asked other investors to help find out when shareholders would have the opportunity to meet the company’s board.
He wrote: “Make una help me ask Dangote when we go get our board of directors meeting because as a shareholder wey don invest ₦5,250, I get one or two investor ideas to share wey go move our company forward.”
The post generated reactions from social media users, with some appearing to support the comedian’s call, while others joined the conversation in a humorous manner.
One user, Emily Francis, backed the idea, while Grace Tarum responded by saying, “seriously,” as the post attracted further engagement.

The online exchange comes amid growing public interest in Dangote’s share offering, which is priced at ₦525 per share.
The offer comprises 4.1 billion ordinary shares, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares valued at ₦5,250.
The offer opened on September 14, 2026, and is scheduled to close on October 13, 2026.
Retail investors participating in the offer may also qualify for up to two additional free shares if they retain their IPO investment for two years.
One bonus share is available after the first year, while another can be received after the second year, subject to the offer terms.
Applications for the shares can be made through investment platforms, including i-invest.
Although Sabinus’ comments were made in a humorous social-media context, the exchange has drawn attention to the participation of ordinary Nigerians in Dangote’s share offering and their interest in becoming shareholders.
The post did not indicate that a formal shareholders’ meeting had been requested or scheduled, with the comments remaining part of an online conversation surrounding the share offer.
