Manchester City have opened the 2026/27 Premier League season with a perfect record, securing three consecutive victories under new manager Enzo Maresca.

City began their title campaign with a 2-1 comeback win over Bournemouth before producing a more convincing performance in a 4-1 victory against Crystal Palace.

The champions then edged newly promoted Coventry City 1-0 on Saturday, with Erling Haaland scoring the decisive goal through a first-half header.

The result took City’s tally to nine points from their opening three league fixtures, giving Maresca an impressive start to life as Guardiola’s successor.

Maresca was appointed in June to take over from Pep Guardiola after previously serving as one of the Spaniard’s assistants at the Etihad.

The former Chelsea manager now faces the task of sustaining City’s winning momentum throughout his first full season in charge.

With Guardiola’s trophy-filled era setting a high benchmark, Maresca will be under pressure to maintain Manchester City’s status among the Premier League’s leading sides while pursuing silverware across competitions.
