The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) has commenced enforcement of the 2026 parking permit regulations across its operational zones in the State.
The General Manager of LASPA, Adebisi Adelabu, said the enforcement marks the end of the extended grace period given to customers to regularise their operations and obtain the required 2026 parking permits.
According to her, the grace period was provided to give affected customers sufficient time to meet their obligations and comply with the authority’s requirements.
Adelabu said LASPA had earlier distributed 2026 Demand Notices to all registered customers, detailing the applicable fees, requirements and procedures for obtaining the permits.
She expressed concern that many customers were yet to obtain their permits despite repeated appeals, reminders and direct communications from the authority.
The General Manager urged defaulters to immediately regularise their operations to avoid sanctions.
She said the enforcement was not intended to be punitive but was necessary to restore order, accountability and efficiency to Lagos’ parking system.
Adelabu warned that customers who default on the 2026 Demand Notices would face severe penalties, including substantial fines and immediate suspension of operations, in accordance with the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law, 2018.
She said valid parking permits and accurate customer records were essential for effective planning, monitoring and regulation of parking infrastructure and services across the state.
The LASPA boss assured customers that the authority’s personnel were available to provide assistance and guidance, including support with its online payment and registration portals.
She also appealed to members of the public to cooperate with enforcement officers and report unauthorised parking activities to the authority.
Adelabu reaffirmed LASPA’s commitment to developing an efficient and sustainable parking system for residents, businesses and visitors across Lagos State.
