The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a video circulating on social media showing some police officers allegedly manhandling a man in Surulere, Lagos.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a post on X, saying the command had seen the video and immediately launched an investigation into the incident.
“The Command has seen the video currently in circulation and has immediately commenced an investigation into the incident,” Adebisi said.
She urged the individuals featured in the video to report to the office of the PPRO at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, on Monday at 11:00 a.m., to assist with the investigation and provide necessary clarification.

“The individuals featured in the video are hereby urged to report to the office of the PPRO at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, on Monday, at 11:00 a.m., to assist with the investigation and provide necessary clarification,” she said.
Adebisi also appealed to members of the public to remain calm and avoid drawing premature conclusions or sharing unverified information while the investigation is ongoing.
“Members of the public are urged to remain calm and refrain from drawing premature conclusions or spreading unverified information, pending the outcome of the investigation,” she added.
