“I built this house with over ₦120m, but I want to sell it for ₦5m” – Man cries out over heavy flooding

A Nigerian man has cried out over severe flooding in his community, revealing that he is willing to sell his house, which he claims is worth over ₦100 million, for just ₦5 million.

According to the man, he bought the land for ₦25 million and spent more than ₦120 million building the house. However, he said the worsening flooding has made it impossible for him to continue living there.

The man claimed that several of his neighbours had already abandoned their homes because of the flooding, while dangerous animals have also become a threat to residents.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), he said:

“I bought this land for ₦25 million and built the house with over ₦120 million, but I want to sell everything for just ₦5 million. I can’t live here anymore. All my neighbours have left because of the flooding, and it’s getting worse.”

He further alleged that two children living in the area were killed and eaten by a crocodile amid the flooding, while claiming that a large python had also entered his house.

“I’m serious when I say I want to sell my house, which is worth over ₦100 million, for just ₦5 million. Just today, two children living here were killed and eaten by a crocodile because of the flooding.

The governor should please come to our rescue. I can’t even live in my house. There’s even a big python inside this flood.” he added.

The man appealed to the state government to urgently intervene, and rescue residents affected by the flooding.

His account has drawn attention to the worsening conditions in the community, with the man expressing desperation over the safety of residents and the loss of property caused by the flooding.
