FRSC Announces Traffic Diversion On Kaduna-Zaria Highway Sunday

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced a one-day traffic diversion along the Kaduna-Zaria axis of the A2 Highway on Sunday, September 6, 2026.

The diversion will take place at DK825, Kwaranza Village, where the highway intersects with the Kaduna-Kano Rail Line, between 8am and 2pm.

The FRSC disclosed this in a National Road Traffic Advisory issued on Saturday, saying the measure was necessary to facilitate the inspection of railway bridge beams under the Kaduna-Kano Rail Modernisation Project.

According to the Corps, only one lane of the dual carriageway will remain open to traffic during the exercise.

The FRSC said appropriate caution signs, cones and diversion markers would be deployed at the affected section, while its patrol teams would be stationed there to manage traffic and protect motorists.

“During the exercise, only one lane of the dual carriageway will be open to traffic, with appropriate caution signs, cones and diversion markers deployed,” the advisory said.

The Corps urged motorists using the route to reduce their speed and exercise caution while approaching the diversion.

It also advised road users to avoid overtaking around the affected section, plan their journeys ahead and consider alternative routes where possible.

“Motorists are advised to reduce speed, exercise extreme caution, avoid overtaking around the diversion, plan their journeys and use alternative routes where possible,” the FRSC said.

The Corps further urged motorists to comply with traffic control devices and instructions from its personnel deployed to the area.

It said the measures were aimed at ensuring the safety of road users and minimising disruption during the railway infrastructure inspection.
